Everyone loves finding a Bargain. Everyone loves saving money. If you say you don't no one will really believe you. It is part of our nature to want to pay less than the advertised price for something we want. That is why haggling is so common. So when we see a Special Promotion at the Supermarket proclaiming: 'Buy one get one free'; or when we pay a bargain price for a Holiday or a Car we get a warm feeling washing over us and for just a moment the world seems a more accommodating place.
Special Promotions might be a feature of a Business that is seeking to shift a lot of Overstock, or to highlight a particular product that has just come on to the market and needs that initial impetus to take off. Equally, it might be to emphasise a particular service or specialty.
As a Business person you are probably ever mindful of having to compete with lots of other Businesses. Your main concern then becomes: how do I make mine stand out? What can I offer that will attract the customer's attentions? How about a one-off special promotion: this can often boost your Business, drawing in Customer's from a wider demographic than usual and at the same time help to improve your Client-base?
Promotions can also be a means of highlighting the whole range of your business acumen and an opportunity to enhance your reputation - promote yourself while you are promoting a particular product. Make it work for you rather than you work for it.
